MEET THE TEAM

Jared Freedman is the Senior Vice President and Associate General Counsel for Dispute Resolution, Global IP, and Consumer Services at Marriott International, Inc. in Bethesda, Maryland. He is a seasoned litigator with first-chair trial experience and has represented and advised numerous Fortune 500 companies.

At Marriott, he manages a global docket of complex commercial disputes, advises Marriott’s business executives on litigation risks, and oversees a team of more than 30 lawyers and legal professionals. He previously served as the Senior Vice President for Litigation at the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), where he led industry-wide litigation on behalf of the major recorded music companies. Before that, he was a partner at Jenner & Block in Washington, DC. At Jenner, Jared worked extensively for the music industry on cutting-edge rate-setting and copyright matters. His practice also focused on First Amendment issues and representation of hospitality companies.

Jared’s pro bono practice included representing clients in death penalty, immigration, and asylum cases. Jared earned an A.B. magna cum laude from Harvard College and a J.D. from Yale Law School. After law school, Jared clerked for Justice Dana Fabe on the Alaska Supreme Court and for U.S. District Court Judge Michael Ponsor in the District of Massachusetts. Jared and his wife have three children and live in Washington, DC.
