Gregory T. Camp
Board Member
Gregory T. Camp is Managing Director of Newfield Capital Inc., a private investment firm in New York. He served as board member and treasurer of the Southern Center for Human Rights from 1995 to 2019 and was reelected to the board in 2025; he has served on the finance committee of the board since 1995.
Mr. Camp serves as one of five board members of the New York City Campaign Finance Board, overseeing the nation’s largest campaign-finance matching program and ensuring compliance of all city campaigns and independent spenders, as well as promoting voter engagement, producing the voter guide distributed to all voters, and administering the debates required of each leading city candidate. He also serves as board member of the Citizens Union Foundation, New York’s leading good-government organization, advocating for fair, honest, and accountable government for over 125 years. He also serves as a member of the New York City Bar Association’s Committee on Capital Punishment and chairs the Bar Association’s Norman Redlich Awards, given in recognition of outstanding achievement in capital defense and advocacy.
Mr. Camp was an Assistant District Attorney in New York County for seven years, working in both the Trial and Investigation/Rackets Divisions, where he investigated and prosecuted a wide range of violent and organized crime. He subsequently served as Deputy Director of Criminal Justice for the State of New York. He has run for public office twice — for State Assembly in 2007 and New York County District Attorney in 2009.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Camp served as an investment banker at Dillon, Read & Co. Inc. (now UBS AG) and Salomon Brothers Inc. (now Citigroup Inc.). Mr. Camp graduated magna cum laude from Yale College and earned an MBA from the Yale School of Management and a JD from Yale Law School. He was born and raised in New York City, where he has raised and is raising his three children.
