MEET THE TEAM

Ginger Anders is co-chair of the Supreme Court and appellate practice at Munger, Tolles & Olson. She has argued 19 cases before the United States Supreme Court and numerous cases in the federal courts of appeals and state appellate courts. Ms. Anders argued on behalf of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev in his direct appeal in the U.S. Supreme Court. In addition to representing clients such as Google LLC, Samsung, the World Bank, the National Endowment for Democracy, and Radio Free Asia, Ms. Anders maintains a busy pro bono practice focused on capital litigation. She has represented several clients in capital habeas petitions in the courts of appeals and the Supreme Court; clients challenging lethal injection procedures at all court levels; and she assisted C.J. Rice in obtaining habeas relief and release from prison in Pennsylvania. Before joining MTO, Ms. Anders served as an Assistant to the U.S. Solicitor General from 2009-2016, and a Deputy Assistant Attorney General in the Office of Legal Counsel in 2016-2017. Ginger clerked for Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg; Judge Sonia Sotomayor on the Second Circuit; and Judge Gerard Lynch on the Southern District of New York.
