David Eppler
Board Member
David started his career as a public defender at the Legal Aid Society in New York City from 1985 to 1989. He was Director of the Money in Politics Project at Public Citizen’s Congress Watch from 1989 to 1992. In that position he co-chaired the National Coalition for Campaign Finance Reform.
David spent the next few decades managing and investing in private companies. He was the President of Capital Kids’ Radio Company, a radio and marketing venture, from 1993 until 2001. He was also a Principal in CEW Partners, a private partnership that invested in private companies, public securities and real estate.
David joined the Maryland Office of the Attorney General in 2015 as Special Assistant to Attorney General Brian Frosh, serving for the next eight years. His focus in the office was civil and criminal justice reform. He was the Attorney General’s designee to the Justice Reinvestment Coordinating Council and Oversight Board. He was also a member of the Maryland Access to Justice Commission, serving as its Vice Chair.
David has led numerous nonprofit boards. He was Chair of the Campaign for the Fair Sentencing of Youth and served briefly as its Interim Director. He was also Chair of the Mid-Atlantic Innocence Project.
